The Mining Superintendent is also responsible for providing support to the Operations Manager in delivering planned outcomes.What Youll DoActively participate in the implementation and maintenance of the Health and Safety Management System and Plans and ensure compliance with statutory requirements by all staff within area of responsibility.Provide input to the development of operating plans.Direct contractors in accordance with contract and ensure service levels are met.Lead the mining team in execution of the agreed plan.Monitor mine operations and maintain consistency with environmental requirements and consent conditions.Establish and maintain a positive workplace culture.What Youll BringTo be successful in this role, you will be a proactive leader who drives positive outcomes through coaching, mentorship, and team development. You will have:Hands-on mining experience, as a mining operator, supervisor, and superintendent.Strong understanding of excavator productivity and broader operational performance.Greater than10 years of surface coal mining experience with evidence of senior leadership roles.Mining Supervisor (NSW OCE) or Mining Engineering Manager (NSW MEM) Practising Certificate.Demonstrated ability to ensure statutory compliance and operational discipline.A continuous improvement mindset and strong skills in problem-solving, planning, and systems-based operations.This role is best suited to a local candidate or someone considering relocation after some time.
