OverviewMater Cancer Care Brisbane is currently seeking applications for a Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology. This position will be offered as parttime (0.60FTE), fixedterm contract of 12months to cover leave, clinics & research.ResponsibilitiesBe part of the oncall roster, conducting regular inpatient ward rounds which incorporate teaching and direction of patient care.Supervise and teach trainee registrars in the outpatient clinic.Conduct teaching sessions with undergraduate and postgraduate students.Provide adequate recording of consultations and specialist opinion to referring medical practitioners.Provide clinical consultancy for Medical Oncology services within Mater Hospital Brisbane & Springfield and for Mater regional sites.QualificationsMedical degree registered with the Medical Board of Queensland.Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.Registered as a Medical Oncologist with the Medical Board of Queensland.Collaborative and engaging approach to teamwork, positive interpersonal and communication skills, commitment to patient safety and quality improvement, and effective clinical problemsolving skills.BenefitsGenerous salary packaging options including meal and entertainment benefits.
