Site Manager - Retail project in the heart of the Gold Coast Willmot Construction Recruitment Broadbeach QLD Initial Project - Shopping centre refurb, upgrade and extension in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast Experience as Site Manager working on live environment, retail and shopping centre projects in the Australian fit-out and refurb market will be beneficial Approx 20 months worth of work on the Gold Coast secured $150,000 - $175,000 + Super Start in Jan 2026 Our client is a national Construction Management contractor in the interior fit out, refurbishment and new-build space. They have successfully completed a wide range of projects for many high-profile, private, government and retail clients over the past 20 years. The role requires a strong Site Manager to help deliver a large, live environment refurbishment project of a shopping centre in the heart of the Gold Coast, near Broadbeach. In this position, you will work on the Gold Coast with a project team on a large internal refurbishment of a busy, operational shopping centre. The scope of work includes new escalators, lighting, roofing, lifts, flooring, food court and more. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in the delivery team alongside the Contracts Administrator, Junior Site Foreman and a Cadet. Responsibilities Read and work off construction plans Manage site safety key in an operational environment Short-term programming Help the project run smoothly, on time in line with the programme Management of sub-contractors and trades on site through whole project life-cycle Stakeholder management, correspondence with the shopping centre building manager Attend and take notes of any meetings relevant to the project, either on site or in offices as required Maintain accurate and up to date records for site attendance, site induction, toolbox talks, incidents, materials received, weekly site records, site safety inspections, plant register records, and any further site related forms/administration requested Identify, rectify and manage defect works Qualifications A carpentry trade background is ideal Strong supervisory skills developed as a site foreman and manager with recognised Australian commercial building contractors Experience delivering similar live, operational retail, supermarket or shopping centre projects Strong understanding of refurbishment projects Experience with reputable commercial contractors and established mid-tier construction systems Worked on commercial, retail and industrial building projects from $10M-$30M with a strength in structures Possess a cando positive attitude and be a positive member of the site team Career focused with a desire to progress into Site Foreman On Offer Very good salary package from $150,000-$175,000+ Super Permanent, long-term opportunity Excellent Australian MidTier builder genuine employer of choice in the tier 2 market Great career opportunity to progress into management roles Long term project in the Gold Coast This is a fulltime opportunity and the company are looking to recruit as soon as possible!
