Job overview Are you an experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic and forward thinking children''s nurse? Can you demonstrate evidence of your clinical expertise and passion about supporting nursing staff and students in developing their skills and knowledge to care for our babies, children, young people and their families? If so, we invite you to consider this secondment and come and work within our Denmark Hill children''s wards education team; full time hrs. a week) as a Band 6 Clinical Facilitator on the Denmark Hill site in Camberwell. You will be joining an established Child Health Practice Development Team made up of a Lead Nurse, 11 WTE Band 7 Practice Development Nurses and 3 WTE Clinical Facilitators who work within the Childrens Services over the two sites; the other site being at the Princess Royal Hospital, Farnborough. Working collaboratively with the senior nursing team, ward managers and the Child Health Practice Development Team you will develop a suitable learning environment to enhance the skills and expertise of students and qualified nurses. Excellent communication skills are required to continue the already good working relationships with internal and external partners. You need to have the ability to prioritise your own workload and have excellent organisational skills to ensure the success of this role. Main duties of the job The primary role of the clinical facilitator is to ensure a positive learning environment for students and junior nurses. To support learners to maximise available learning opportunities to achieve the clinical practice standards expected from the educational placement To facilitate trained staff to develop and maintain assessor / mentor skills To act as a resource within Child Health and across the Care Group as necessary and act as a positive role model to students and other staff members To maintain effective relationship with link lecturers, lecturer practitioner and other key staff in the Trust, in the interest of supporting nursing students Working for our organisation Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UKs largest and busiest teaching Trusts with a turnover of c billion, million patient contacts a year and more than 15,000 staff based across South East London.
