The primary purpose of the Materials Officer - G2 is to typically work as part of a small team performing well-defined tasks where there is a specific objective and outcome. The primary objectives of this role is to effect the secure management of materials and spare parts in a warehouse environment; to receive, put away, preserve, pick and deliver items for preventative & corrective maintenance activities or any other as required by the business.A Grade 2 Materials Officer will move up to Grade 3 upon successful completion of training, probation and proven competency.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESLearn and actively develop understanding of the site safety systems, compliance, policies and proceduresLearn and actively develop understanding of warehousing principles and processesActively engage with Team Leaders and the Inventory team to identify, locate and/or process orders as and when requiredCommunicate and follow the direction of the G4 Material Officer/Team leaderEffectively integrate into a team environment without conflictProcess incoming with the same diligence as outbound materialsComplete tasks as directed by the Leadership team to the highest standardOperate relevant machinery aligned to skillset in the safest possible manner, along with any other materials handling equipmentRoutinely cycle count inventory and complete associated paperwork as directedActively work to keep the workplace clean and safeApply principles learned from the VOC/Training programs to the required standardSafely load and unload trucks of various configurations and sizes in a timely manner.
