Senior Pharmacist - Geriatrics & Medical Specialties with Team Leader Job no : Work type : Full time Location : Adelaide CBD Categories : Allied and Scientific Health Central Adelaide Local Health Network Statewide SA Pharmacy Working as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist in Geriatrics and Medical Specialties Team leader for General Medicine and Medical Specialty Team Salary : AHP3 - $108,347.00- $116,216.00p.a. + Managerial allowance + Superannuation & Salary Sacrifice Benefits Based within CALHN at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Full Time, Contracted Role up to 14 Jun 2026 About the role As the Senior Pharmacist Team Leader, you will provide clinical services to the geriatric and medical specialties teams while also providing strategic and operational leadership to a dedicated team of pharmacists, technicians, assistants and administrative staff, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality and patientcentred pharmacy service for the General Medicine, Geriatrics and Medical Specialties Team at TQEH. You will guide your team in implementing Medication Management directives, policies, procedures and guidelines, acting as a key point of contact for clinicians and service units on pharmacyrelated matters. Through strong leadership, mentoring and support, you will optimise service outcomes, oversee training and development, and ensure staff competence through targeted practice reviews and performance development. Working collaboratively with other team leaders, you will contribute to the delivery of safe and costeffective drug therapy, upholding Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) Standards of Practice and all relevant legal requirements. You will lead the development, evaluation and teaching of workplace policies and procedures, manage a designated portfolio that supports broader departmental goals, and undertake complex clinical and operational work within your area. This role also provides crossdepartmental support to maintain consistent, accountable and highquality medication management across the service. About You You are an experienced and forwardthinking pharmacy professional who brings strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills and proven leadership capability. With the ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities and support ongoing improvement, you are wellequipped to contribute to a dynamic pharmacy leadership role. Educational / Vocational Qualifications Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and registration or eligibility for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia. Personal Abilities / Aptitudes / Skills Excellent written and verbal communication and public relations skills; Ability to work independently under broad direction; Adaptability, flexibility and resilience; Strong organisational and timemanagement skills; Ability to analyse data, solve problems and manage change; Proven capacity to lead service improvement; Competence in leading, supervising, educating and supporting pharmacy and nonpharmacy staff. Experience Extensive hospital pharmacy experience supported by leadership, supervisory or management experience within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Previous experience in geriatrics, general medicine and medical specialties will be advantageous. Knowledge Strong professional and technical competence in pharmacy practice and services, with comprehensive knowledge of relevant codes of practice, standards and regulatory requirements.
