Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient Perth Childrens HospitalSpinner Medical Recruitment Perth WA2mo ago, from Spinner Medical RecruitmentWe are pleased to be recruiting this consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist (Inpatient) for a major service in Perth, Western Australia, Australia.Wage AgreementBetween September 2024 and September 2025, consultants with 9 years or more experience will receive $515,000 per annum, excluding oncall, recall etc.After September 2025, consultants with 9 years or more experience will receive $532,000 per annum, excluding oncall, recall etc.About the ServiceThe Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Perth, Western Australia provides support, advice, and treatment to young people and their families. Children and families are referred by therapists, specialists, GP, schools, or other community organisations. The service offers recoveryfocused programs for children from birth to 18 years. CAMHS has three key program areas: Acute, Community, and Specialised (including eating disorders).Inpatient ServiceThe Inpatient Unit (Ward5A) is a 20bed tier4 StateWide Service offering inpatient mental health care for young people up to 16 years old. You will be supported by a full multidisciplinary team and junior doctors. Up to three psychiatrists share responsibility for the patients.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide highquality clinical management and treatment to patients at the inpatient unit.Uphold and elevate professional standards while fostering an academic environment that supports education, research, and professional development.Actively contribute to teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.Provide firstclass care for children, young people and carers/families.Collaborate with key support partners and value/ respect colleagues.Promote teaching, training and research.Carry out clinical practice, teaching and research, administration and management, and clinical governance, safety and quality.Selection CriteriaFRANZCP or progress towards FRANZCP (with Certificate of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) or equivalent qualifications gained in NZ, UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, South Africa.Expertise in psychiatry and child psychiatry in the field of child and adolescent mental health, especially inpatient settings.Experience in providing clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team.Effective interpersonal and communication skills in a multidisciplinary environment.Knowledge and expertise in undertaking individual therapy and family systems interventions.Interests and involvement in quality improvement processes and in the maintenance of professional standards.Experience in education, training and supervision of undergraduate medical and other related professionals.Contact InformationFor more information please contact Alasdair Spinner on or email.We can make an appointment after hours or at the weekend if this is easier for you.We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters of Australia and the Torres Strait.
