Job Overview Air Mobility Training and Development Unit (AMTDU) assesses and certifies air cargo for carriage on Australian Defence Force (ADF) fixed- and rotarywing aircraft. The unit operates within Defence Aviation Safety and Quality requirements and other legal frameworks. The Quality Manager (QM) develops, implements and maintains AMTDUs QMS in accordance with ISO9001 and DASR QMS requirements, manages internal and external audits, reports quality Key Performance Indicators and supports the publishing and release of AMTDUauthored air cargo orders, instructions and publications used by the wider ADF. Key Duties Tasks are primarily office and computerbased but may include physical audits and inspections in various indoor (hangars, workshop spaces) and outdoor (industrial workshops, aircraft aprons, aircraft cargo compartments, unprepared airfield, drop zones) locations. The work environment may require lifting 015kg, bending, squatting and exposure to excessive noise. About our Team The AMTDU team is a mix of uniformed and APS staff and includes engineers and technical specialists such as aircraft loadmasters, air movements staff, air dispatchers, parachute riggers and aircrewmen. The QM will work collaboratively with this diverse team to manage conformance, compliance and continuous improvement across all AMTDU activities and liaise with external ISO9001, Defence Aviation Safety Authority and customer organisations. Our Ideal Candidate Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders of diverse professional backgrounds. Strong organisational skills and ability to independently manage assigned tasks and schedules to successful completion. Formal qualifications and experience in managing ISO9001 QMS. Previous experience in aviation safety, air operations, airworthiness management or regulatory compliance. Strong commitment to professional development and ability to rapidly apply new knowledge to workplace activities. Security Clearance Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level1.
