About the Role Workforce Extensions is excited to once again be partnering with Chief Group, a respected leader in Victoria''s civil construction industry. We are seeking an experienced Commercial / Procurement Officer to support project delivery across a diverse range of civil and infrastructure works throughout the state. Purpose of the Role To manage procurement, commercial contracts, supplier relationships and cost risks across Chief Group''s projects ensuring valueformoney outcomes, quality of goods and services, and timely supply to meet project delivery requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage procurement strategies for materials, subcontractors and plant Solicit, assess and recommend vendor quotes, proposals and tenders Negotiate contracts including pricing, delivery schedules and payment terms Build and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships Monitor vendor performance, delivery accuracy and quality compliance Collaborate with estimating and project teams to align procurement with budgets and delivery plans Conduct commercial risk assessments and value engineering opportunities Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual standards and governance frameworks Required Skills, Attributes and Experience Procurement, commercial or supply chain experience preferably within civil construction Strong commercial acumen with well-developed negotiation and financial analysis skills Excellent communication and relationship management ability Knowledge of construction materials, plant and subcontractor markets Experience working with procurement or ERP systems (preferred) Motivated and organised: able to manage multiple procurement packages concurrently Collaborative mindset: works closely with project managers, operations and finance teams Accountable: driven to ensure best outcomes for cost, quality and delivery Benefits & Culture Supportive leadership and a strong team culture Opportunities for professional growth and long term career development Involvement in major civil projects shaping Victoria''s infrastructure Stable employment with an established and reputable contractor Commitment to health, safety and employee wellbeing To apply, please submit applications to Justin Thompson at Workforce Extensions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
