Quality Control Inspector - QTMP Project Hyundai Rotem Company (HRC) was founded in 1977 and since that time, has been leading the industry globally by delivering critical national infrastructure in over 50 countries. The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) - a project commissioning, designing and constructing a new manufacturing facility in Torbanlea Qld and a new maintenance facility in Ormeau Qld. It includes manufacturing and delivering 65 EMU Train sets (390 cars) by the end of 2031. Combined local and international design teams and suppliers will work together to ensure the delivery of manufacturing requirements and associated documentation to ensure that train sets locally manufactured in Australia meet the design, compliance, manufactuability, reliability, maintainability and safety specifications for the trains operational life for a minimum of at least 35 years. About the Role We are hiring a BRAND NEW team for one of the biggest rail project at our Torbanlea Manufacturing Facility Site and seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to support inspections, audits, testing and reporting across rollingstock production. If you have a background in quality inspection within rail, heavy industry, fabrication or large-scale manufacturing, this is an excellent opportunity to join our team. The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting quality assurance inspections and investigations, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, approved designs and project standards. You will play a key role in supporting the Quality Manager, identifying non-conformances, driving corrective actions and maintaining documentation to meet project, regulatory and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Project Assurance & Compliance Conduct regular audits, inspections and quality reviews to verify compliance with project standards, specifications and quality control processes. Validate that inspections and investigations reflect the latest approved design changes and configuration updates. Support testing and commissioning activities for Rollingstock, ensuring all functional tests meet customer and project criteria. NonConformance & Issue Management Assist the Quality Manager with identifying and resolving quality issues in line with project quality standards. Perform inprocess inspections and detailed investigations into nonconformances, including rootcause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Work collaboratively with internal teams, subcontractors and customers to identify, rectify and close quality issues. Documentation & Reporting Prepare and submit accurate inspection and investigation reports including findings, test results and improvement recommendations. Communicate effectively with external quality counterparts and customers to ensure alignment on quality requirements. Support the Quality Manager with ad hoc tasks, initiatives and continuous improvement activities. About You Minimum 3 years experience as a Quality Inspector or similar role in rollingstock, heavy manufacturing or complex engineering environments. Ability to interpret mechanical or electrical drawings. Strong knowledge of quality management principles and inspection processes. Experience with welding standards and Rollingstock Testing & Commissioning advantageous. Proficient in documentation and reporting using standard software tools. Excellent attention to detail, problemsolving and communication skills. Familiarity with ISO9001 and quality auditing practices.
