The Cold Works/Assembly Technician is responsible for preparing and finishing chassis supplied by our prep team, and completing key mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.If you have a passion for hands-on work and a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.What you''ll be doingPreparing chassis and components for paintingSpray painting (primer and topcoats)Fitting and assembly of axles, wheels, hand brakes, and electric brake componentsBasic 12V wiring for brakes and lighting systemsInterpreting drawings and working in line with relevant ADR requirementsAssisting with general workshop and production dutiesTrack and report quality inefficiencies to department supervisorMaintain cleaning of factory floor and equipment maintenanceComply with all Work Health and Safety regulationsWhat we''re looking forExperience in mechanical assembly, automotive/trailer work, or general fabricationCompetent with spray painting equipment and paint preparationBasic 12V electrical knowledge (wiring, troubleshooting)Understanding of ADRs relating to running gear and towing systems (advantageous)Ability to use hand and power tools safelyStrong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanshipComfortable working both independently and as part of a teamEffective communication and problemsolving skillsEffective time management, punctual and reliableDesired but not essential:Have MIG welding experience in light gauge 1.5mm to 3.0mm RHS steel and aluminium componentsThe ability to read and interpret working drawings, schematics and technical manualsAbility to tow and maneuver trailers into positionWhat we offerAt VanHomes, we take pride in our strong familybased values and in creating a positive work environment where our people can grow and thrive professionally.Enjoy free access to our onsite gym.Our creche is available for employees providing allday care for your children while you work.
