CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps. CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond. We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra and Heyfield delivering highquality, personcentred care in supportive and homelike environments. CGH provides a wide range of communitybased services that support people to remain healthy, active and independent in their own homes. This includes Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs and other inhome services tailored to individual needs. Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing. CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash Universitys School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students. About Department The speech pathology service at CGH provides a wide range of services, including Early Childhood Intervention, acute inpatients and rehabilitation, aged care, NDIS and, in addition to home and community care, community health and specialist outpatients clinics. About the Role You will be delivering clinical programmes including therapy and group programmes under the guidance of a speech pathologist and will also support the team with administrative tasks, including setting up for therapy programmes and developing resources. The speech pathology team works with a majority of paediatric clients. Desirable skills and competencies include experience working with children and families and excellent communication skills. Duties Participate in information gathering to assist the assessment process, including independent administration of screening tools, under the guidance of an Allied Health Professional. Assist in the supply of written resources under the direction of a Speech Pathologist. Facilitate and assist with therapeutic groups and/or educational programmes. Work with clients, their families and carers to carry out functional and therapy activities as identified in the clients care plans. Work with clients, families and carers to support access to services. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Cert3 or4 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent. Victorian drivers licence.
