This is a Centrelink-approved activity and is based in our Cleveland office. Role responsibilities Answering phones Handling enquiries Directing calls to the relevant team/staff member Data entry Position requirements Be able to volunteer at least one day per week Previous phone/call centre experience (preferred but not essential) Strong communication and customer service skills Basic computer skills Able to recognise and respect the dignity, privacy, spiritual and cultural needs of clients Have a caring, compassionate nature Able to participate in training Be over 18 years of age All staff and volunteers must undergo an NDIS Workers'' Screening Check (previously a Yellow Card), which includes a National Police Check. STAR will assist successful applicants with this and provide full training. STAR believes volunteering shouldn''t leave you out of pocket. STAR reimburses volunteers for daily out-of-pocket expenses: $15 for days (4 hours) or $30 for a full day (7-8 hrs). This is a non-taxable reimbursement.
