The opportunity: Senior Software Engineer; Haultrax Digital We are seeking a highly capable Senior Software Engineer to join our Digital team. This role is central to the bridge between Software Engineering, QA, Operational Technology, and our product direction. You will work across our full technology stack and play a key role in designing systems, leading technical decisions, and shaping the evolution of our digital products. This is a role for someone who loves problemsolving, clean code, technical leadership, and working closely with both engineering and operational teams to deliver meaningful, realworld outcomes. This role is based in our Brisbane CBD office. What youll be doing: Working with the digital team through our agile methodology to deliver sprint commitments. Develop and deploy software releases to test, and production environments. Build wellstructured, maintainable, and performant software across the full stack. Lead or contribute to system architecture decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, robust, and aligned with business goals. Collaborate with QA and operational teams to ensure highquality releases and smooth infrastructure performance. Drive improvements to our build, deployment, and development tooling. Troubleshoot complex issues across development, deployment pipelines, and production environments. Play a key role in product evolution, technology selection, and longterm digital strategy. Support and mentor other engineers, contributing to team capability and shared practices. Key capabilities were looking for: Were looking for someone who brings strong fullstack technical capability, with deep expertise in at least two areas of our tech stack and confidence working across the rest. You should be experienced in designing scalable, secure systems, writing clean and maintainable code, and contributing to architecture decisions. Youll take ownership of testing quality, deployments, and debugging, while also collaborating closely with QA, product, and implementation teams. A strong product and user focus, clear communication, and the ability to contribute to processes and mentor others are essential. Above all, you bring curiosity, continuous learning, and a desire to lift the capability of the team around you. What youll bring: Advanced understanding of modern web stack components Experience with Vue, SCSS/SASS advantageous Understanding of functional programming Elixir experience is highly advantageous Strong understanding of databases and data efficiency PostgreSQL knowledge is advantageous Beneficial exposure to: Automating tasks using Bash/cmd/PowerShell Working with production workloads on Microsoft Azure Kubernetes or containerised deployments A disciplined, detailoriented approach to engineering. Integrity, strong communication, and a teamoriented attitude. Ability to prioritise safety, sustainability, and responsible development. Comfort navigating complexity and distilling problems into clear next steps. Initiative to explore new ideas and technology improvements. Willingness to work across all levels of the organisation. Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Computer Systems, or a proven record of technical learning and development.
