The Opportunity Were searching for an exceptional General Manager & Product Lead NBL1 to drive the strategic growth and evolution of NBL1 as Australias premier winter basketball league. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this is a pivotal leadership role shaping the leagues vision, product roadmap, and operational delivery across all conferences nationwide. Youll steer NBL1 as a premium basketball product building consistency, integrity, innovation, and unforgettable fan experiences. What Youll Do Lead Strategy & Brand Direction Own the national strategic direction of NBL1 and guide longterm planning with key partners Champion the growth and alignment of the NBL1 brand across all conferences Drive shared strategic outcomes in collaboration with State Sporting Organisations (SSOs) Drive Product Leadership & Innovation Define the product vision and roadmap for NBL1, aligning competition, digital, broadcast, and invenue experiences Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fan engagement and commercial value Deliver integrated product solutions with technology, marketing, and operations teams Leverage data and fan insights to inform innovation and future product enhancements Strengthen Stakeholder Relationships Build strong, trusted relationships with SSOs, clubs, partners, and delivery teams Work with Basketball Australias Integrity Unit to uphold compliance and league integrity Represent the NBL1 brand across internal and external forums Oversee League Operations & Delivery Lead the Internal Delivery Team, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to key milestones Support League Managers in delivering a seamless national competition each season Facilitate League Manager Meetings and the annual Club Conference Work with Events teams to successfully deliver the NBL1 National Finals Manage Broadcast, Data & Rights Delivery Collaborate with Streaming and Broadcast teams to ensure highquality delivery of all NBL1 games Oversee signage, partnership integrations, and rights execution across venues and broadcasts Lead Financial Management & Reporting Own the NBL1 League P&L, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals Deliver accurate financial reporting to State CEOs and NBL leadership Support audits and uphold high standards of governance and accountability What Were Looking For Essential Senior experience in product management, product strategy, or league/competition management Proven success driving growth, product evolution, and roadmap delivery Strong leadership capability with crossfunctional team management experience Deep understanding of sports administration, league operations, and governance High commercial and financial acumen, including P&L ownership Experience with broadcast, streaming, or data rights operations Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills Strategic thinker with strong organisational and problemsolving capability Bonus Points For Experience in sports, digital media, entertainment, or highgrowth environments.
