Job Description

A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing site is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee all engineering, maintenance and utilities operations. This role leads capital planning, maintenance reliability, automation, energy management and facilities services while supporting continuous improvement, technical projects and site strategic priorities. As a key member of the Site Leadership team, you will ensure safe, compliant and reliable operations across a fast-paced GMP environment. This is a senior role suited to an engineering professional with strong leadership capability and deep experience in regulated manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Engineering and Capital Projects Develop capital investment strategies and multi-year plans aligned to site prioritiesPrepare and manage capital project applications, budgets and delivery schedulesEnsure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget and to defined quality requirements Maintenance and Reliability Lead the maintenance function, including policy development, scheduling and executionImplement reliabilitycentred maintenance programs to maximise asset uptimeOversee maintenance systems, CMMS compliance and spare parts strategy Utilities and Facilities Operations Manage all site utilities including boilers, chillers, compressed air and wastewater treatmentEnsure reliable and compliant operation of critical utilities serving GMP productionDrive sustainability initiatives and energy management programsOversee site facilities including buildings, grounds, security and contractors Compliance and Continuous Improvement Ensure engineering, maintenance and facilities activities comply with GMP, EHS and regulatory standardsLead root cause investigations, corrective actions and risk assessmentsSupport process optimisation, technical transfers and new product introductionsApply operational excellence tools to improve reliability, safety and cost performance Leadership and Team Development Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary engineering teamBuild capability through structured training, coaching and development plansManage departmental budgets and ensure responsible control of engineering expenditureProvide leadership to colleagues supporting global engineering and technology initiatives Skills and Experience Required Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering disciplineMinimum 10 years engineering experience in manufacturing environments (pharmaceutical or GMP preferred)Proven leadership experience with responsibility for engineering, maintenance and utilitiesStrong knowledge of GMP, quality systems, EHS principles and regulatory requirementsDemonstrated experience in capital project management and maintenance reliability programsStrong understanding of utilities operations including wastewater, steam, HVAC and compressed airHighly organised, analytical and comfortable managing multiple priorities under tight deadlinesExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholdersDemonstrated capability in continuous improvement and operational excellence Why This Role Stands Out Senior leadership position within a regulated GMP manufacturing siteStrategic influence across engineering, maintenance, utilities and capital investmentStrong salary package and genuine long term career opportunity How to Apply Submit your CV outlining your engineering leadership experience in manufacturing and GMP environments.
