National Archives of Australia Brisbane QLD As part of the Digital First program, the Unified Data View (UDV) will provide a complete, accurate, and up-to-date data for Business Intelligence, data analysis, and enhanced collection search capability. The Unified Data View aggregates, unifies, and presents collection metadata from multiple, disparate sources into a single, cohesive view to facilitate better decision-making, improve data accessibility, and enhance data analysis capabilities for users across the National Archives of Australia (National Archives). The underpinning technologies are based on Microsoft cloud technologies, including Microsoft Fabric OneLake data warehouse, Power BI business intelligence and Microsoft Azure Application Programming Interface Management (APIM). To sustain, maintain and further develop these new technologies, Technology Branch have a vacancy for an APS6 Data Warehouse Developer to manage ongoing operations of the Unified Data View. Responsibilities Support the development and sustainment of the unified data warehouse system and associated business intelligence products. Process, cleanse, and integrate large data sets from various sources, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the data. Supporting the development and execution of test plans and test cases and perform data validation and data integrity testing. Manage existing and/or develop data warehouse processes and systems, ensuring ongoing reliability and alignment with business needs. Implement and maintain data models to structure and organise the National Archives'' data effectively for analysis. Use technical skills in Microsoft Azure data solutions to implement and manage Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) pipelines. Cultivate and maintain expertise in business domain knowledge within the National Archives, with a strong understanding of collection management practices and government recordkeeping. Collaborate with business and technical teams to document existing business rules, processes, and procedures, mapping current data flows and defining collection reporting requirements Maintain, or ability to gain, skills in database fundamentals, Python and Power BI, Microsoft Azure SQL, Azure DevOps and MS Fabric. Relevant certifications or equivalent qualifications would be well regarded. Promote and apply the APS and National Archives values and contemporary people management principles and practices in equity and diversity, WHS and participative management practices.
