Job Description

The Depot Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of daily operations within the crane yard, ensuring all cranes, trucks, trailers, vehicles, equipment, and yard assets are compliant, maintained, and ready for deployment. The role requires strong leadership, coordination of personnel, handson supervision of equipment preparation, and strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.The Depot Manager is the key link between operations, maintenance, logistics, and site crews, ensuring Allied delivers safe, reliable and well-presented equipment to all clients.Operational ManagementOversee the daily running of the depot, yard, and workshop operations.Ensure all cranes, trucks, light vehicles, and ancillary equipment are compliant with site requirements.Manage equipment scheduling, mobilisation and demobilisation activities.Coordinate prestarts, daily allocations, and yard labour tasks.Maintain a clean, organised and safe depot environment.Compliance & DocumentationEnsure all plant has current registrations, crane safes, inspections, insurances and site compliance documentation.Manage and track service intervals, inspections, maintenance schedules and booking of repairs.Complete and maintain on/offhire reports and inspection documentation.Ensure all safety paperwork, prestart forms, risk assessments, and incident reports are completed accurately.Supervise yard crew, mechanics, dogmen, riggers and support staff.Allocate tasks, communicate expectations, and monitor performance.Ensure compliance with working hours, fatigue management, and Allied policies.Support onboarding, inductions and ongoing training/licensing requirements.Fleet Readiness & Asset ManagementEnsure all equipment is prepared, fuelled, cleaned and ready for deployment.Work with Operations to prioritise equipment repairs and resource allocation.Report equipment faults or damage immediately and follow processes for investigation.Monitor consumables, stock levels, tooling and site support equipment.Safety & Risk ManagementEnforce a strong safety culture across the depot.Conduct toolbox talks, inspections and safety walks.Ensure breathalyser testing and prestart requirements are met each day.Respond to incidents with required reporting, testing and escalation.Client & Stakeholder InterfaceWork with operations coordinators to ensure client requirements are met.Support site visits, crane inspections and client audits as required.Ensure professional presentation of equipment and personnel at all times.BenefitsCompetitive salary package.Company vehicle.A great team culture.Strong safety awareness, an organisation that makes sure you are home safe every day!All PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and uniforms provided. #J-18808-Ljbffr
