Department of Education Victoria Saint Albans VIC 7d ago , from Department of Education & Training Victoria Victoria University Secondary College is a multi campus school, comprising of a Junior Campus located in Deer Park, a Senior Campus with a Trade Training Centre located in Cairnlea and a Flexible Learning Option iCAN centre located in St Albans. Our college has approximately 1225 students from years 7 to 12 and services the residential area of Cairnlea, Deer Park, St Albans and environs in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Selection Criteria SC1: Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks, including coordinating and supporting others in respect to specific work functions relevant to the role. SC3: Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills. SC4: Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position. SC5: Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff in respect to the work area. Role To participate as a team member in the following: the College Structure the Campus or Administration Structure Professional Learning Teams once a week and other team meetings as required. Professional Development and/or training as required. Responsibilities Under the direction of the Business Manager, Campus Principal and Disability Inclusion Leader, provide learning support to our students with targeted learning needs and associated administrative tasks to support Disability Inclusion Profiles. Assist student on an individual or group basis at school, and on school excursions/camps as required. Assist with communication between students and teachers, particularly the interpretation of teacher instructions and learning activities. Review professional recommendations about student learning difficulties and disabilities, and work with teachers to plan for adjustments. Assist with coordination and planning of student routines and address immediate behaviour issues in partnership with the teacher relating to specific students within a classroom setting. Assist teachers with communication to parents about routines and access to learning activities. Contribute to data collection which supports Disability Inclusion Profiles. Participate in family (Student Support Group) meetings. Assist with students in the playground and sporting activities. Set up and put away equipment and materials in support of teaching programs. Observe students and draw the attention to the teacher where necessary. Assist in the translation of documents. Assist where / when required in the Library area. Other duties that may be required by the Business Manager, Principal or Disability Inclusion leader.
