Location: Port Augusta & Port Pirie (where required) About the role As a Regional Operations Leader based in Port Augusta, youll play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of Aurizons rail services. Leading a frontline team, youll be responsible for managing daily yard and traincrew operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable and cost-effective train services to our customers. Key responsibilities Championing a proactive safety culture, aligned to our I know SAFE, I choose SAFE commitment Managing allocated yard and traincrew operations to meet service demands Implementing improvement initiatives to reduce asset cycle times and enhance train payloads Ensuring effective crew levels to support scheduling and rostering Building and maintaining positive working relationships with your team, including setting and monitoring performance and behavioural standards Leading incident investigations and driving safety outcomes Monitoring and reviewing locomotive download data to ensure optimal driving practice About you Youre a confident and safety-focused leader who thrives in fast-paced operational environments and is motivated to deliver high-quality results through people. You will also bring Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management (preferred) Strong safety leadership skills and knowledge, including experience with incident investigations (ICAM preferred) Demonstrated experience in leading teams, assigning tasks, and solving problems in operational settings The ability to engage, coach and motivate team members while setting clear direction A sound understanding (or the ability to acquire knowledge) of train handling, provisioning procedures, network route knowledge, safe working systems and crew deployment Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness What we offer you At Aurizon, we support the development and growth of our employees.
