Active OOSH (AO) provides a home away from home for children in its care (Before School Care, After School Care and during School Holidays). We are passionate about providing high-quality care and education to primary school-aged children in a fun, safe, active environment so that every child looks forward to AO, and feels welcome and supported. The Area Manager plays a pivotal role in leading and supporting a group of Coordinators across multiple services in the Manning/Great Lakes region to ensure that services operate to the highest standards of compliance, quality and performance. The Area Manager is responsible for mentoring staff, resolving complex issues, supporting recruitment and onboarding, and driving the success of each service through proactive leadership, handson involvement and strategic oversight. Please note - this position is based in the Manning/Great Lakes region. Key Responsibilities Provide service oversight and support have an onsite presence to suit operational needs, manage staff leave, assist Coordinators in managing service aesthetics, and lead weekly service staff meetings. Provide leadership and people management mentor and coach Coordinators, complete performance reviews, identify staff progression, liaise with Head Office around recruitment needs, oversee the onboarding of new team members and manage conflict resolution. Compliance and quality assurance ensure full compliance at services, provide support around Inclusion Support applications, and provide guidance around enrolments for children with additional needs. Operational and administrative support support Coordinators to complete administrative tasks, identify opportunities to boost enrolments, be the "link" between Head Office and regional services, monitor and track performance against key operational metrics. Key Skills and Attributes Experience within the childcare, daycare or education sector. Leadership skills and the ability to manage a small team effectively. A friendly, position and solutionsfocused approach. Good organisational skills to juggle competing priorities. A strong understanding of the National Quality Framework (My Time, Our Place), and other relevant legislation and regulations would be highly regarded. Qualifications/Certifications A current paid Working With Children Check is required. Current qualifications in Child Care First Aid (HLTAID012), CPR (HLTAID009) and Child Protection (CHCPRT025), or be willing to obtain. Safe Food Handling Certificate, or be willing to obtain.
