Aquaculture Fish Health Front Line Supervisor Humpty Doo Barramundi is Australia''s largest Barramundi farm. This 100% family owned and operated, the farm is approximately 50 minutes from Darwin CBD, located halfway between Darwin and Kakadu National Park and prides itself on growing a premium saltwater Barramundi for Australia''s retail and food service. Our mission is to responsibly produce beautiful Australian Barramundi while demonstrating our genuine care for and commitment to our people, fish, environment and partners. We are currently seeking Aquaculture Fish Health Frontline Supervisor, to join our team for the day to day running of HDBs farming operation. During your employment we will train and educate you in a diverse range of skills related to Aquaculture and Barramundi farming. Aquaculture Fish Health Frontline Supervisor Responsibilities and Duties Monitor the health of fish and schedule regular check-ups on fish farm wide Assist with passive surveillance programs Prepare work plans Data collections Water quality testing and management Monitor microalgae by classifying and quantifying Laboratory skills dissection & microscope usage Monitoring and count of bacteria Identify and isolate disease agents in both regular and sick fish Preparation of samples to be sent to third-party testing Oversee and assist with implementing farm biosecurity Relevant qualifications and or experience in Aquaculture, Agriculture, Horticulture or Science related field (certificate, diploma or degree) Must have current drivers license Own reliable transport High attention to detail and willingness to learn Fish Health Frontline Supervisors are involved in handson work where you will be required to carry out a wide range of duties that will include, handling fish of all sizes, Fish Necropsy, Sample collection of fish and water for analyses, Using the microscope for a range or fish and algae checks, working using aseptic techniques, upholding a high standard of biosecurity. We are seeking passionate, hardworking, positive people who thrive on a challenge and are comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all seasons. You must be comfortable in and around water. A high level of physical fitness is required as the fish farming environment can be physically demanding.
