We are seeking a reliable and safetyfocused Mechanic who will schedule and conduct maintenance on our fleet of school buses and route service coaches. The role also requires daily operation of a school bus, ensuring all scheduled maintenance and compliance requirements are met with support from our National Fleet Maintenance Manager. Key Responsibilities Maintenance Duties Conduct maintenance of coaches, buses, cars, yard and all equipment. Carry out repairs to ensure safety, presentation and roadworthiness. Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently. Respond to driver defect reports and rectify issues. Work proactively to meet preventative maintenance schedules. Liaise with Operations regarding vehicle availability and maintenance planning. Maintain updated knowledge of maintenance requirements to satisfy Government accreditation standards. Travel to surrounding depots as required, including breakdown and emergency support. Follow all WHS requirements to maintain a safe workplace. Driving Duties Safely operate school buses on assigned routes. Complete daily predeparture and endofshift checks. Report defects promptly and monitor service due dates. Adhere to approved routes, stops and schedules. Maintain professional conduct with students, schools and the public. Follow all road rules and legal requirements. Medium Rigid (MR) licence minimum. Current Victorian or NSW Driver Accreditation / Driver Certificate (or ability to obtain and maintain). Current Victorian or NSW Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain and maintain). Trade qualification as a Mechanic (Australian or recognised international equivalent). Heavy vehicle driving experience. Strong diagnostics and faultfinding skills. Reliable, safetyminded and able to work independently. Qualifications Medium Rigid (MR) Licence minimum. Current Victorian or NSW Driver Accreditation / Driver Certificate (or ability to obtain and maintain). Current Victorian or NSW Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain and maintain). Trade Qualification as a Mechanic (Australian or recognised international equivalent). Heavy vehicle driving experience. Strong diagnostics and faultfinding skills.
