Activity Assistant Volunteer Memory Lane Cafe - Wilton NSW Dementia Australia is the national peak body for people of all ages living with all forms of dementia, their families and carers. We provide advocacy, support services, education and information. Were seeking friendly, upbeat volunteers to help brighten the days of our clients, people who are independent and actively engaged in our semi-supported social programs. If you enjoy sharing conversation, companionship, and laughter, this is a wonderful opportunity to give back and be part of something special. Responsibilities Join in group activities and social experiences. Offer gentle oneonone support under staff guidance. Help at Memory Lane Caf sessions by welcoming guests, assisting with signin, making tea and coffee, and setting up the space. Support guests to create a relaxed, dementiafriendly environment. What were looking for Warm, welcoming approach and a genuine interest in others. Enjoy meeting new people and creating a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Happy to help with practical tasks such as setup and guest support. Experience supporting someone living with dementia (desirable but not essential). Each caf session typically runs for 90 minutes to two hours. Join us in helping create moments of joy, connection, and community, one cuppa at a time. Volunteer Requirements Over the age of 18. Interview, reference and police checks (at Dementia Australias cost). Participation in induction and orientation sessions. Completion of eLearning training. Commitment to ongoing training.
