Job Description

Overview The Glazier is responsible for the installation, replacement, and repair of glass and glazing systems across various residential and commercial projects. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on-site and in workshop environments. Working as part of the operations team, the Glazier ensures all work complies with Australian Standards, industry guidelines, and company WHS procedures while delivering high-quality outcomes for clients. Tasks & Responsibilities Duties: Measure, cut, install, and remove glass for windows, doors, partitions, shopfronts, balustrades, and other glazing applications. Fit and install aluminium frames, glazing panels, mirrors, splashbacks, safety glass, and related fixtures. Interpret drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine glazing requirements. Fabricate and assemble glazing components using hand and power tools. Conduct site measurements, prepare templates, and ensure precise cutting and fitting. Install seals, gaskets, and finishing trims according to manufacturer and project specifications. Conduct glass repairs, replacements, and emergency call-outs when required. Ensure all glazing work is compliant with AS1288 and other applicable Australian Standards. Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop/worksite areas in a clean and safe condition. Liaise with clients, builders, and supervisors to coordinate project timelines and resolve issues. Complete job documentation, reports, and compliance records as required. Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality workmanship aligned with company standards and client expectations. Follow all WHS procedures and ensure safe work practices at all times, including working at heights and handling glass safely. Manage time effectively to meet job deadlines and minimise project disruptions. Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and team members. Report hazards, incidents, or equipment faults promptly. Contribute to continuous improvement of glazing processes and workplace safety. Qualifications & Experience Qualification in Glazing, Glass & Glazing, or a related trade (Cert III desirable). Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. Strong technical skills in installation, repair, and fabrication of glass systems. Ability to interpret drawings, measurements, and construction documentation. Knowledge of Australian Standards including AS1288 and AS2208. Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and glazing equipment. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively. White Card and valid drivers licence. Experience in residential and commercial glazing projects (preferred). Working at Heights or EWP licence (optional but advantageous).
