Continuing, Part Time Appointment | 0.4FTE Teaching Focused Academic Level A Annual salary up to $114,924 pa + 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leave Casuarina Campus | Larrakia Country Teach in the Academy of the Arts at Charles Darwin University with a focus on Vocational Education About the Position The lecturer will facilitate students learning through teaching and marking, attend to student and industry inquiries, and assist in marketing the relevant courses. The role will require knowledge and skills to teach visual arts, with a focus on core skills such as drawing, painting and printmaking. The position requires the capacity to engage across arts disciplines working collaboratively with other colleagues and may require teaching in remote Indigenous communities. The role involves engagement with the local community, contributing to youth programs and short courses, and working with local arts and education organisations to assist with workforce development. About You Relevant postgraduate qualifications in a related field or an equivalent combination of tertiary qualifications, experience as a practicing artist and educator. Formal teaching qualifications and/or current qualification equivalent to a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) and the ability to obtain competencies in additional core units as required. Proven experience in teaching visual arts, demonstrating high-quality teaching outcomes in a tertiary education context as well as a demonstrated record of creative practice and/or research in the field of Visual Arts, ideally with a practice engaged in drawing, painting and/or printmaking. Demonstrated experience in course and unit design and development of learning resources (for online and in-person teaching). Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate culturally sensitively with internal and external stakeholders (including community centres, industry partners, stakeholders and government departments). Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team, with proven organizational, time management and administrative skills to support course delivery. Competency with the Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software database packages. Commitment to the Universitys values Knowledge of current Indigenous social, cultural, political and economic issues in local, national and international contexts, and experience in networking and collaborating effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, arts organizations and artists in Australia. Experience in working in a dual-sector teaching and culturally diverse environment. Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check, a NT Working with Children clearance, and a current NT Drivers License. Must be able to work flexible hours as required. Remuneration Appointment to this role will be at HE Academic Level A. The base salary will be in the range of $76,604 $114,924 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $89,626 $134,461 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
