Principal Finance Officer, Electoral Commission Electoral Commission Queensland Brisbane QLD The Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Queensland public sector in a position of trust and responsibility. As the A06 Principal Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to better outcomes for Queenslanders by supporting the implementation of the policies, priorities, services, and programs of the elected Government. This is a unique chance to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation. Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), you will lead and guide a small, dedicated finance team, overseeing the full spectrum of financial functions. Your primary focus will be on budgeting and reporting, ensuring the Agency meets its internal financial requirements and complies with the reporting obligations set by Queensland Treasury. Your contribution As the Principal Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Electoral Commission of Queensland''s strategic and operational objectives. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the development and implementation of the Commission''s goals through effective strategic, business, and financial planning processes. Managing the monthly and annual financial reporting processes, including the preparation of financial statements and oversight of the annual audit process. Overseeing the Commission''s Whole-of-Government Tridata/FRaMES reporting requirements, annual stocktake process, and asset register. Leading the preparation of the annual budget, including the development of the four-year election cycle forecasting. Supporting the Chief Finance Officer in managing staff, projects, and activities within the work unit, including daytoday operations and electionrelated projects. Providing highquality strategic advice and timely reports on significant financial and operational matters. Developing and implementing best practice financial policies, procedures, and systems in compliance with relevant legislation and internal guidelines. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including Queensland Treasury, Department of Justice, Queensland Shared Services, Department of Premier and Cabinet, and the Queensland Audit Office. Contributing to the preparation of budget submissions, briefing notes, reports, costing methodologies, and correspondence on complex financial management and budgeting issues. Fostering a positive and cohesive team environment, promoting collaboration, wellbeing, and respect across the Finance team and the broader ECQ workforce.
