We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our Technical Services team, providing leadership, technical expertise and planning direction to support safe, efficient and profitable underground production. Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in medium and short-term mine planning while mentoring a team of Mining Engineers and driving continuous improvement across the operation. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: Lead, mentor and supervise a small team of Mining Engineers Identify development and training requirements for team capability uplift Oversee medium and short-term mine planning functions Prepare Stope Authorities, Mining Instructions and related documentation Act as the responsible engineer for underground ventilation and dewatering Ensure statutory, WHS and environmental obligations are met in all planning Collaborate with operational teams to optimise performance and outcomes Drive proactive problem solving and process improvement initiatives Deliver accurate plans, schedules and engineering reports on time About You You will bring: Degree in Mining Engineering (or related discipline) Minimum 6 years underground mining experience Previous experience leading or mentoring mining professionals Strong underground hard-rock mine planning capability Proficiency with Microsoft Office + Deswik mine planning software Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills Sound knowledge of WHS and environmental compliance in underground mining Ability to identify hazards, assess risk and maintain safe work practices Australian working rights Be able to relocate to Broken Hill NSW What We Offer Permanent, full-time position based at Rasp Mine, Broken Hill Competitive salary + benefits Relocation assistance & subsidised housing for relocating candidates Nine-day fortnight to support a healthy work-life balance Supportive team culture with strong focus on safety and development About Us Rasp Mine, operated by Broken Hill Operations Pty Ltd, is an underground lead, zinc, and silver mine located adjacent to the historic mining city of Broken Hill, NSW.
