About the facility Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelongs CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac. About the role The service MND service at Barwon Health forms part of the statewide model of care for people with progressive neurological diseases being led by Calvary Health Care Bethlehem (CHCB). The Speech Pathologist of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Clinic is responsible for: Using professional expertise, provide integrated assessment, planning and ongoing support to clients in the Barwon South West region with a progressive neurological disease. Implementing the service model and strategic direction, ensuring a best practice approach, and providing high quality, evidence based person centred care in the treatment and management of a progressive neurological disorder. To provide leadership on professional issues within the organisation to ensure the promotion of Speech Pathology professional values and high standards of Speech Pathology service provision. To work in collaboration with the Program coordinator and all other stakeholders to monitor, develop and improve Speech Pathology clinical service provision consistent with the objectives of the Barwon Health and the CHRPC Strategic plans. To provide Speech Pathology and interprofessional teaching, supervision, support and development of students.
