Job Description

Darling Downs South West Region is seeking applicants for an expression of interest to fill a fulltime temporary Guidance Officer vacancy within the Goondiwindi cluster. The position will be based at Goondiwindi State School, providing services to a circuit of primary and P10 schools including ECDP. This position requires travel and applicants must have a current drivers licence. Goondiwindi Guidance Officers have access to vehicles for delivery of service to the circuit and teacher accommodation is available within the town. Goondiwindi is approximately 220 km from Toowoomba and provides a range of amenities including Prep to year 12 educational facilities and medical services. What We Are Looking For We require a Guidance Officer who is able to work as part of the support teams across the schools while also being able to work independently to deliver highquality services. An applicant with knowledge of diverse learners, inclusive practices and supporting students mental health and behavioural needs would be highly favourable. About The Role Provide professional expertise, leadership and support to school communities and networks in the development and implementation of plans, programmes and procedures to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental and lifelong learning outcomes. Collaboratively negotiate, develop and implement programmes for students that have a focus on preventative and early intervention strategies, are responsive to identified personal, social, emotional and educational needs, and aim to foster resilience and personal skills development.
