Finance Officer - Accounts Payable & Assets Part time 0.6 FTE Fixed term St Brigid''s College is committed to providing excellence in education within a Christ-centred environment. We are seeking a Finance Officer - Accounts Payable and Assets, to join our team for in an ongoing role. The successful applicant will provide accurate and timely accounts payable and asset management services, within the scope of legislation, and the colleges policies and procedures, and respond and resolve people or creditors queries in a timely manner. Duties Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices and other payment requests within prescribed timelines. Pay creditors by scheduling and preparing EFT, BPAY and Direct Debit payments, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice or payment discrepancies and documentation. Charge expenses to General Ledger accounts and cost centres in Synergetic or other finance accounting systems, aligning with the chart of accounts. Review and approve purchase orders in line with budget limits and delegated approval thresholds. Maintain accurate and up-to-date creditor and supplier records, including banking details, payment terms and contact information. Implement and support processes and workflows for accounts payable and resource management, regularly reviewing them for compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement. Maintain accurate asset and resource registers, including processing additions, disposals, transfers and adjustments. Support the Finance Department with day to operations. Support the Administration and Reception when required. Any other duties as required by the Principal or Business Manager. Selection Criteria A clear commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic education. Experience using financial management software to process accounts payable, maintain asset records and complete general ledger processing. Experience in developing, following and improving financial procedures and internal controls for compliance, particularly in relation to creditor payments, credit cards and asset registers. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records. Demonstrated high level of numerical, computing and administrative skills, including accurate data entry and use of spreadsheets in Excel for monitoring and reporting. Experience in a financial role in a school context will be highly regarded.
