Key Details Location: Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region Job Title: Rural Remote Team Leader Registered Nurse OR Aboriginal Health Practitioner Classification: Nurses & Midwives OR Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner Employment Conditions: Full Time Contract ongoing, contingent on funding Salary: $131,655 $137,183pa (N5.1 5.2) or $115,674 $123,054pa (ATSIHP6.1 6.3) Generous salary packaging: $15,899.94p/a Professional development incentive: $1,500p/a Subsidised accommodation available for candidates residing outside the Barkly Region Annual leave: 6 weeks (empirical) Free prescriptions and general dentistry Remote retention allowance: $750 Relocation assistance: up to $5,000 Reports to: Clinical Services Manager About the Role This role will primarily work to address health care needs for Aboriginal peoples and their families residing in Anyinginyi Healths four remote Barkly communities/outstation service delivery areas (Wogyala, Corella Creek, Mungkarta, Nuramin and other smaller outstations). Based in Tennant Creek, you will be responsible for the daytoday operations, directly managing the Rural and remote health team, providing leadership and support for remote outreach clinics, promoting health awareness, and delivering public health responses, health assessments, screening, treatment, management and contact tracing followups in the Barkly region. Expectations include: Planning and providing regular remote outreach community screening, health assessments, and treatment for individual clients and families following the NT CARPA standard treatment manual. Providing referrals and bookings for primary health care assessments, CDMPs, allied health appointments, immunisations, STI & Bbv contact tracing, treatment, and followup. Collaborating with AHAC clinics and CDC to deliver followup treatment and management of preventable diseases; leading health education and populationwide awareness campaigns. Working with the entire clinical team to achieve the objectives of the strategic plan and providing regular monthly qualitydata reports. Complying with organisational policies, QS, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Leading team performance, supervising the Rural Remote Team and ensuring safe, highquality patient care through health checks, care plans, and regular reviews for chronic disease clients. Building strong collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders and service providers in the Barkly region to support holistic care delivery. About You To be considered, you must possess current registration as a Nurse and/or Aboriginal Health Practitioner, with a clear understanding of the Primary Health Care system and key issues relevant to closing the gap in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Experience working with Aboriginal organisations or communities is highly regarded but not essential. Preferred attributes include: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to tailor approaches to diverse families. Demonstrated understanding of social determinants of health and primary health care challenges in remote communities. Ability to manage clinic operations, supervise staff, and contribute to continuous improvement projects. Requirements: National Police Clearance and NT Working with Childrens (OCHR) Card must be obtained prior to commencement.
