Visiting Medical Officer in General Practice - Manilla Multipurpose Service Employment Type: Visiting Medical Officer Position Classification: Visiting Medical Officer Remuneration: NSW Visiting Medical Officer Award Hours Per Week: Negotiable Requisition ID: REQ595946 Manilla MPS is a small facility, yet it holds the distinction of being the largest MultiPurpose Service in NSW. Located just 30 minutes from Tamworth, a vibrant regional city offering a full range of services and amenities, Manilla MPS provides comprehensive care to the community. Our facility has a total of 54 beds, comprising 40 permanent aged care beds, 10 acute care beds, and 4 designated Emergency Department beds. We are seeking General Practitioners interested in working across the Emergency Department and the HealthONE General Practice. We operate a Level 2 Emergency Department, receiving an average of 10 presentations per day. Onsite, we also have a HealthONE GP practice operating Monday to Thursday (with potential for extended days), supported by a practice nurse, community health, and allied health services. Expedited Specialist Pathways Are you an International Medical Graduate (IMG) seeking specialist registration in Australia? The Expedited Specialist Pathway offers a streamlined route for eligible doctors to gain recognition and start practicing sooner. The Expedited Specialist Pathway is currently available for eligible doctors in the specialties of General Practice, Anaesthesia, Psychiatry, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with plans for expansion into other specialties. To be eligible for the Expedited Specialist Pathway, specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) must hold a specialist qualification on the Medical Boards Expedited Specialist Pathway accepted qualifications list. Accepted specialists can start practicing when the Medical Board has granted you specialist registration and approved your supervised position, with a period of six (6) months supervised practice being completed. What Youll Be Doing The provision of contemporary, comprehensive and professional specialist services that are safe, effective, evidence based and patient centred. Mandatory Requirements Of This Role Include Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and oncall services as determined and required by HNELHD Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and whilst oncall including clinical handover, clinical supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care as determined and required by HNELHD Provision of education and research as determined and required by HNELHD A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RACGP or ACRRM and/or overseas trained specialist pathways. Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in General Practice Evidence of being a scholar, maintains medical professional development and has the ability to assist other staff, including trainees in the acquisition and development of knowledge. Evidence of being a skilled communicator, including both oral and written skills, communicating with patients, students, other health professionals and the public. Evidence of being a collaborator, including the ability to network and operate within an interdisciplinary framework and to work with other stakeholders in a variety of settings. Evidence of being a manager, including ability to be flexible and cope with a changing health system, past leadership and management experience and previous safety and quality improvement activities. Evidence of being a professional, including continued professional development, peer review and other forms of clinical governance.
