Join to apply for the Leading Hand Mechanic Raleigh role at Busways Group Job Details $44.81 per hour $125,000+ earning potential (incl. overtime and allowances) Tool allowance: $17.90 per week Attendance allowance: $32 per rostered worked hour Annual leave loading: 17.5% Ongoing training and development (e.g., inhouse heavy vehicle brake courses presented by a registered TAFE teacher) Exposure to advanced technologies (Euro 5 & 6) Licence upgrade opportunities (car to MR licence, costs covered) Career progression: higher duties or additional roles Benefit programs: fitness passport, novated lease options, employee assistance programs and more Team environment with quarterly BBQs Employee referral programme: cash bonus for successful referrals What We Offer Competitive pay and substantial earning potential Inclusive superannuation provision Role Responsibilities Perform repairs on buses and related maintenance activities as required Oversee major repair programs, including testing, fault finding and quality assurance Conduct functional checks to ensure components are operational and vehicles are fit for service Provide onthejob instruction, training and coaching to staff for maintenance work, inventory and record keeping Develop workshop team skills to maximise results Lead by example, representing the organisation ethically in accordance with the Busways Code of Conduct Maintain tools, equipment and work areas per Busways standards Liaise with the Regional Assets Support Manager regarding offroad buses Assist the Regional Assets Support Manager as needed, including higher duty supervisory responsibilities in their absence Ensure staff have adequate training for required tasks Raise purchase orders and process invoices for payment Report and repair all accident damage as required Perform adhoc tasks and other duties as directed About Us Busways is the largest Australianowned bus operator and most experienced bus specialist, delivering highperforming transport services since 1942. The Successful Applicant Will Hold the relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential Have 35 years experience as a heavy vehicle diesel mechanic Be able to mentor apprentices and contribute to their growth Manage daytoday workshop operations Ensure adherence to WHS regulations and company policies Possess strong verbal and written communication skills Have experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance schedules Approach tasks proactively with a drive for continuous improvement Be physically fit to carry out the roles demands Be willing to undergo a preemployment medical check and workwithchildren check Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have unrestricted working rights in Australia Hold a current unrestricted Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant state Highly Regarded But Not Necessary Medium Rigid (MR) or higher Australian drivers licence Apply now Submit a resume and a cover letter outlining how you meet the roles requirements.
