We are seeking Mentors (also known as Support Workers), passionate about making a real difference in peoples lives to join Access4u, a leading South Australian notforprofit organisation in the disability sector. We are seeking those interested in Casual employment (including weekday, weekend, and evening/night availability). We have a variety of casual positions available in Yorke Peninsula. The role At Access4u, a Mentor works directly with people with a disability, providing physical, emotional, behavioural, social and personal support. Responsibilities Day to day living tasks, including providing inhome support, assistance with shopping and helping with household tasks and personal care activities Developing life skills by attending classes and exploring new hobbies Providing emotional support and friendship Enhancing opportunities for learning, skill development and independent mobility support Transporting customers to appointments, social activities, etc., as required (must have a full Australian drivers licence and reliable vehicle) You must have availability for weekday shifts, evening/overnight and weekend shifts. What you will need to succeed Qualifications (e.g. Cert III Disability) will be highly regarded. Previous experience in a disability support sector is highly regarded. Excellent communication skills and active listening. Good problemsolving skills. Ability to work with challenging behaviours. Highly motivated, resilient, persistent and patient. A positive attitude and highly customerservice focused. An understanding of the NDIS and disability sector. Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Childrens Check, Child Safe Environments Training and First Aid + CPR (or willingness to obtain). Demonstrated experience working with people within the disability sector will be highly regarded.
