Transport Volunteer Wangaratta, VIC Overview Red Cross Transport Volunteers provide courier services for older and vulnerable Australians. Volunteers operate Red Cross vehicles to deliver doortodoor transport for medical appointments, social outings, and essential errands. The role offers meaningful connections and a chance to support community wellbeing. Responsibilities Operate Red Cross vehicles to transport one or more clients per trip locally and regionally. Use mobile applications to support safe, timely service delivery. Adhere to established work practices and maintain a safe, courteous transport experience. Place light mobility aids (approx. 1012kg) in the boot of a vehicle when required. Engage in appropriate conversation and activities that support client independence and dignity. Respect client privacy, rights, and dignity, and maintain confidentiality of information obtained during service delivery. Record timely, accurate documentation of interactions with clients. Participate in mandatory learning and development to keep knowledge, skills and practices up to date. Qualifications & Commitment Valid Australian drivers licence with an excellent driving record. National Police Check (organised through Red Cross). Statutory Declaration for citizens or permanent residents of nonAustralian countries after age 16. Commitment to a regular rostered shift 1day per week / fortnight during business hours. Commitment to mandatory training and elearning modules (~1hour per month).
