This role blends technical expertise with leadership to ensure high quality standards, streamlined workflows, and a collaborative team culture. Key Responsibilities Lead, trainandmentorgrossing technicians to ensure skill, accuracy, and consistent performance Allocate daily workflow and ensure turnaround times are metProvide technical guidance, training and competency assessments for grossing personnel. Oversee grossing activities meet RCPA cutup guidelines and laboratory standards. Ensure tissue handling, equipment use, and cleaning procedures are followed correctly Maintain documentation and monitor quality, maintain audit readiness, and ensure compliance with NATA and laboratory procedures Liaise with scientific officers, registrars, pathologists, and other lab sections to maintain smooth workflow You are highly knowledgeable in grossing and enjoy maintaining a positive environment even during busy periods. Qualifications Degree or diploma in Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experienceingrossing specimensin a diagnostic pathology laboratory Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology terminology and specimen handling. Strong understanding of RCPA cutup requirements and specimen handling workflows Confidence in directing workflow, supporting staff, and resolving daytoday issues High attention to detail and commitment to quality and service Experience in mentoring, training, or leading others is highly regarded Knowledge of NATA quality systems, Laboratory Information Systems, and/or PowerPath is an advantage.
