Drawing from traditions shaped by Berber and Arab influences, the restaurant celebrates Moroccos vibrant cuisine, distinctive spices, and cultural warmth. Our client is seeking to add a Chef who can uphold these traditions while delivering beautifully presented Moroccan dishes. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Prepare traditional Moroccan dishes using authentic ingredients and techniques Develop and adjust menus reflecting Moroccan flavours and seasonal produce Oversee kitchen operations to maintain consistency and high food standards Monitor food quality, freshness and presentation before service Train and guide junior kitchen staff in Moroccan cuisine preparation Manage stock levels and ensure timely ordering of key ingredients Maintain strict food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards Supervise cooking processes to ensure accurate flavour profiles Create spice blends that reflect traditional Moroccan culinary practices Collaborate with management on menu planning and kitchen improvements Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary needs without compromising authenticity Ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation during service periods Inspect kitchen equipment and report maintenance or replacement needs Support catering preparation for special events and cultural functions Coordinate preparation of preserved ingredients such as lemons and spice pastes Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role: Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher in a relevant discipline is essential. At least three years of full-time experience cooking in a professional kitchen environment. Strong knowledge of Moroccan cuisine, spices, ingredients and traditional preparation methods. Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff while maintaining high performance standards. Demonstrated experience managing stock, ordering supplies and reducing kitchen waste. Capability to design, adjust and execute menus aligned with Moroccan culinary traditions. Commitment to maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and presentation expectations. Strong organisational skills ensuring efficient workflow during busy service periods.
