The Playground & Surfacing Labourer is responsible for assisting with the installation of playground equipment, rubber soft-fall surfacing, synthetic turf, edging, and general landscaping components across commercial and education-based construction projects. This role supports site supervisors and installers in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient playground builds. About the role As a Playground Installer / Surfacing Labourer with Alas Construct , youll work in a small crew installing: Rubber soft-fall surfacing (base top coat) Synthetic turf around play areas Edging, borders and basic landscaping Playground components and equipment General labouring: wheelbarrows, levelling, digging, site clean-ups Youll be working mostly on schools, council parks and commercial playgrounds around the Gold Coast and surrounding areas. Key responsibilities Assist with rubber soft-fall and synthetic turf installs Help with digging, levelling and base preparation Use basic tools and equipment (compactors, mixers, demo saws, etc.) Follow instructions from the Site Supervisor / Leading Hand Keep work areas clean, safe and organised Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE What were looking for Reliable, hard-working and willing to learn Physically fit happy to do hands-on outdoor work Able to work in a team and follow direction White Card (required) Drivers licence and reliable transport (required) Nice to have (not essential): Experience in construction, landscaping or playground/surfacing work Experience with compactors, demo saws or similar What we offer Full-time hours with a growing company Training in rubber surfacing and synthetic turf Opportunities to move into installer / leading hand roles Variety of sites and projects Good crew culture and steady work pipeline Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Subcontract Pay: $24.95 $57.63 per hour Expected hours: 30 70 per week Benefits: Company car Free food Gym membership Travel reimbursement Work Location: In person
