The opportunity: Our client is a large community focused Federal Government agency looking for a skilled APS6 Program Coordinator with experience working with within First Nations initiatives, cultural safety or First Nations Government programs, ideally within health, disability or social services. 12-month initial contract (labour hire) - likely extension.$60.26/hr Super.Based out of Richmond or Geelong (WFH 2-3 days per week).Australian Citizenship required as this is a Federal Government agency. About you: Proven ability to coordinate and deliver complex programs, including managing timelines, deliverables, risks, and reporting requirements.Understanding of cultural safety principles, First Nations perspectives, and co-design approaches to ensure programs are culturally responsive and inclusive.Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills to work effectively with First Nations stakeholders, internal teams, and external providers.Experience supporting the development of culturally safe learning resources and workforce capability initiatives, including induction and professional development content.Ability to contribute to the design and implementation of evaluation frameworks, analyse feedback, and support continuous improvement of program outcomes.Capacity to align program activities with broader organisational goals, workforce strategies, and cultural safety priorities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing briefings, reports, presentations, and stakeholder communications. Selection Criteria: Demonstrated experience in program management and delivery, including coordinating projects, tracking milestones, managing workflows, and ensuring alignment with governance, budget, and reporting requirements.Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work respectfully and effectively with First Nations communities, government agencies, and service providers.Understanding of First Nations cultures and communities, and a commitment to fostering culturally safe environments and improving outcomes for First Nations peoples.Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs, including briefs, reports, and correspondence, within tight timeframes and in line with organisational standards.Experience in contract and grant management, including procurement processes, financial tracking, and compliance with Commonwealth frameworks.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.Experience and understanding in Disability and the NDIS highly desirable.
