Senior PlannerLocation: Perth, Australia (Office based No site travel required)Contract Duration: 12 MonthsWork Schedule: Standard office hours, with flexibility to support offshore monitoring as requiredReporting: Reports to Project Manager and Project Controls Manager, works alongside other Planners We are supporting a leading offshore energy project in Australia seeking a Senior Planner to oversee planning and scheduling activities for a major offshore hook-up and commissioning project. The role focuses on maintaining accurate project schedules, progress measurement, and reporting in collaboration with project teams. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project, including allocation of dates, durations, constraints, logical links, resources, and external dependencies.Prepare project control schedules (PCS) with detailed WBS, dates, durations, and resource allocations to support ongoing project monitoring.Re-baseline project schedules when required to reflect changes in scope or methodology.Maintain detailed schedules to support project cost control systems (CCS).Update schedules in conjunction with project cost controllers to reflect accurate forecasts.Perform cross-discipline manpower and resource forecasting.Undertake progress measurement, calculating weightings and progress curves, and report status regularly.Provide input to weekly and monthly project reports, including S-curves and narrative summaries.Support alternative work methodologies and schedule improvements as required.Implement project progress measurement systems for engineering deliverables and construction activities.Liaise with engineering and construction teams to track deliverables, monitor progress, and update forecast completion dates. Qualifications & SkillsBachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification preferred.Recognised project planning/scheduling qualifications preferred.Minimum 6 years experience in planning and scheduling within the oil and gas industry, including offshore, subsea, and onshore projects.EPC/EPCM planning and scheduling knowledge.Strong experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; advanced Excel skills.Understanding of offshore hook-up and commissioning activities.Personal AttributesSelf-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision.Methodical, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritising tasks under pressure.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively in a team environment.Flexible approach to planning and scheduling solutions.Ability to critically review and approve project plans and progress measurement systems. Additional InformationRequired to work extended hours as needed.Occasional travel to offshore or onshore sites for monitoring and mentoring activities.Must have full working rights in Australia.
