We are seeking an AO5 Senior Ranger (Estates Management) to join our Technical Support team in the QPWS Central Region. This is a role that combines a mix of office and field work. This position leads a small team in estate management for Central Region focusing on managing resource use. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Ranger (Estates Management) to join our Technical Support team in the Central Region. This role offers a unique blend of office-based and fieldwork responsibilities, leading a small team to manage resource use across QPWS&P-managed estates. Your key responsibilities will include overseeing resource use such as grazing, mining, fossicking, infrastructure, and native forest harvesting. You will also address enure-related matters, coordinate compliance activities, and support natural and cultural resource management. This role requires a strong focus on multiple-use management, legislative and regulatory compliance, and community education. Key duties include conducting desktop and field assessments, preparing detailed technical reports, liaising with industry and stakeholders, and drafting written authorities with appropriate conditions. To excel in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and strong technical capabilities. Prior experience in environmental assessment, permitting, auditing, interpreting legislation and proficiency in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) will be highly regarded. You do not require tertiary qualifications to undertake this position, however a Certificate in Conservation and Land Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
