About the Role As a Senior Project Officer , you will play a key role in supporting the Chief Scientist & Engineer and Deputy Chief Scientist & Engineer on government-commissioned reviews and committee work relating to strategic scientific and technological priorities. You will contribute to high-impact policy projects by providing evidence-based analysis, synthesising complex technical information and preparing authoritative reports, briefings and advice. You will undertake research, review scientific and regulatory material, coordinate expert input, manage project documentation and support stakeholder engagements. You will also contribute to the work of technical committees and help shape responses to emerging issues in science, technology and innovation. You will be joining the Reviews and Committees team within the Office of the Chief Scientist and Engineer, working collaboratively with senior leaders and subject matter experts to influence decision-making across government. We''re Looking For Research & Analysis: Ability to interpret and synthesise complex scientific, technical and regulatory information to support evidence-based review outcomes Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. science, engineering, technology, environmental science) or equivalent experience Scientific Communication: Strong written communication skills to present complex concepts clearly in reports, briefs and advice for non-technical audiences Project Management: Experience coordinating concurrent workstreams, managing documentation and delivering quality outputs within tight timeframes Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to collaborate with subject matter experts, researchers and government stakeholders to inform project outcomes Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Demonstrated capability to identify emerging issues, apply structured analysis and develop practical solutions We value diverse experiences.
