With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hours drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbournes North is fast becoming the place to be.Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Locum Neonatologists to join the Womens and Childrens department.Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbournes rapidly growing outer north.Services are provided through our six main campuses:Northern Hospital EppingBroadmeadows HospitalBundoora CentreCraigieburnMernda Community HospitalsKilmore District HospitalIn addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.The role is responsible for:Ensuring appropriate neonatal support in the following areas inpatient wards (neonatal unit), emergency department, postnatal ward, labour ward and theatre (for complex newborn deliveries), thus ensuring the continuity of high-quality paediatric services at Northern Health campusesParticipation in the ongoing audit, quality and education programs of the W&C divisionAssisting in Paediatric Registrars, HMOs training, orientation and supervision of registrars/HMOs during paediatric rotation at Northern HealthEncouraging, supporting and implementing education and research in neonates/paediatricsTo be successful in this role you will have:Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential MBBS, MD, PhD or equivalent.Fellow Royal Australasian College of Physician (Perinatology/Neonatology SAC).Evidence of appropriate private medical indemnity insurance.Experience and sound working knowledge of neonatal intensive care and special care nursery practices.Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Demonstrated clinical leadership, decisionmaking and problemsolving skills.Welldeveloped communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to familycentered care.Ability to supervise, mentor and support junior medical staff and students.Commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement and evidencebased practice.If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.
