Job Type: Permanent position | Full time positionJob DescriptionOur valued client, NEWCO FARMS, seeks a dedicated and experienced Farm Manager to join their dynamic team. The role requires deep knowledge of diverse farm operations, integrity, trustworthiness, and a proactive, cando attitude.Report directly to the General Manager on livestock and farming related matters.Liaise with the Egg Grading and Packaging Operations Manager on egg supply, egg quality, and supply logistics.Work to written and verbal instructions as provided by the General Manager and/or Technical and Veterinarian Services Manager.Participate in companydirected staff meetings and further education courses.Undertake standard bird husbandry practices that ensure the health and welfare of birds, including monitoring feed, water intake, body weights, interpreting laboratory results, conducting clinical examinations, and performing autopsies.Coordinate, monitor, and report on livestock activities, production processes, and management staff to meet specified targets and standards.Liaise in coordination with the Livestock Manager and/or Veterinary Manager with pullet suppliers on all matters relating to the rearing, husbandry, preparation, and logistics of particular rearing flocks.Supervise and organise staff, including training in basic layer farm management procedures, standard best practice, and safe working procedures.Assist in recruiting appropriate staff.Liaise with Employment and Training Managers on recruitment, training activities, and industrial issues.Reorganise any work procedure as directed by the Technical and Veterinary Services Manager or as deemed necessary in the absence of a staff member.Control and coordinate all laying farm activities to achieve short and longterm business objectives that improve financial outcomes.Ensure that appropriately trained staff are available for special tasks, including egg collection, bird culling, hygiene programs, and vaccinations.Coordinate rearer transfers and flock depopulations, including provision of appropriate staff to minimize losses, stress, and timely delivery.Detail and authorise employees'' pay and contractor payments as required.Ensure that all vaccines, treatments, and medicines are available and administered as required in the appropriate manner.Perform all farm administration in accordance with Newco Farms'' guidelines, including completing all relevant reports and documentation within required timeframes.Undertake basic repairs and maintenance of sheds and facilities to ensure appropriate and optimal operation; maintain premises and surrounding amenities.Ensure strict compliance with quarantine and biosecurity principles by all Newco Farms'' farming operations.Assist in coordinating farm cleanouts and washdown; develop and maintain safe work practices.Support and implement the Company''s Accident Prevention Program; report workplace hazards identified during the course of work to the appropriate person according to standard operating procedures.Ensure that laying farm activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, and standards.Adhere to relevant quality standards; confer with the appropriate Newco Farms personnel on applications of methods, production standards, and safety programs.Refrain from association with other avian (bird) species or work in any other commercial poultry operation while employed with Newco Farms unless approval has been given.Essential SkillsPrevious experience in farm management.Ability to lead and manage a team.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proactive time management and organisational skills.High level of computer literacy and numeracy skills.Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.Safetyfocused and able to ensure compliance with WHS policies and procedures.Good mechanical skills.Salary: $100,000 per annum#J-18808-Ljbffr
