Based on a proven international model, Hotel Etico provides paid employment and independent living skills training to young people with intellectual disabilities. Trainees participate in a 12month program that builds independence through handson experience across hospitality departments and supported living in the Academy of Independence. Hotel Etico empowers individuals while challenging community perceptions about disability and employment. We are a registered charity, certified social enterprise, and NDIS provider. Our operations combine commercial revenue from hotel services with NDIS support funding to sustain the model. Position Purpose The Academy Coordinator Canberra is responsible for overseeing the daytoday delivery of NDIS supports for trainees in the Hotel Etico Employment and Independence Program in Canberra. Working collaboratively with the hospitality and Academy teams, the Academy Coordinator ensures trainees are supported to achieve their goals, maintain NDIS compliance, and thrive in both work and independent living settings. Qualifications Qualification in Disability, Community Services, or a related field. Experience coordinating NDIS services and compliance for a registered provider. Strong understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality & Safeguarding requirements. Demonstrated team leadership and staff coordination experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work across diverse teams and stakeholder groups. Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Comfortable with systems such as CRM software, rostering platforms, and Microsoft Office. A collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. Key Areas of Responsibility Program Coordination & Trainee Support Contribute to trainee recruitment, assessments, and goal planning. Support trainee employment contract management. Manage support workers performance. Facilitate regular review of support plans and assist with plan reassessments. Champion trainee choice and control across all aspects of the program. Assist with the rollout of new systems for rostering, billing, and reporting as needed. Prepare regular trainees progress reports. NDIS Support Coordination & Compliance. Coordinate and roster disability support workers to align with trainee''s schedules. Ensure the delivery of individualised supports aligned with trainee''s NDIS goals. Manage trainee files, service agreements, and billing in line with NDIS rules. Monitor support delivery and progress, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation. Lead incident and behaviour management in collaboration with the wider team General Ensure compliance with NDIS registration, audit, and reporting requirements. Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times. Support onboarding of new staff and promote a culture of inclusion and respect. Assist with preparation for NDIS audits and ongoing compliance. Regularly report to the COO. Work closely and collaboratively with staff.
