AFL Goulburn Murray is seeking an experienced Competition Manager to oversee the running of the Kyabram District League (KDL) in line with the KPIs outlined in the service agreement. This is a contract role based in Kialla, Victoria, providing an exciting opportunity to play a key part in the administration and growth of a thriving regional district sporting competition. This is a Full-Time contract position ending October 31st, 2026. Due to the seasonal nature of community sport, the position requires flexibility, including evening and weekend work, particularly during the season. What you''ll be doing Manage the day-to-day administration of the KDL competition, including fixture coordination, results reporting, and disciplinary procedures. Liaise with club representatives, coaches, and officials to ensure smooth league operations. Develop and implement strategies to promote the KDL and attract new teams and players. Manage the KDL budget and provide financial reporting to league stakeholders. Ensure compliance with National, State and Local rules, regulations, and policies for both AFL and Netball. Represent the KDL at league meetings and events. Provide handson support at KDL matches and events as required. What we''re looking for Extensive experience in sports administration or event management, preferably in a regional or community-based sporting league. Proven track record of successfully managing sporting competitions and events. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with club representatives, officials, and the local community. Strong financial management skills and the ability to work within a defined budget. Proficiency in using sports administration software and digital platforms. Passion for Australian Rules football and a deep understanding of the sport and its grassroots community. Experience in community sporting operations is preferred but not essential. Full-time availability required for this contract role.
