Were looking for a First Nations person to join us as a Cultural Lead based in Dubbo, NSW (Wiradjuri Country). Marathon Health considers that being Aboriginal or a Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). Indepth knowledge of the challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, especially in remote areas. Understanding of unique issues affecting young people whether its around health, education, employment, or social and emotional wellbeing. Handson experience working with and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and a commitment to providing services that are culturally safe and truly responsive. Demonstrated experience working with community stakeholders Elders to families, ACCOs, ACCHOs, schools, and other grassroots community groups. Proven skills in engaging and communicating with young people (1225 years) and their families being a trusted voice they can connect with. A valid Australian Drivers License and willingness to travel across the ten Youth Outreach Project areas to connect with communities and make an impact.
