Job Description

Knox Grammar School is an independent, multi-campus Kindergarten to Year 12 day and boarding school for boys, located at Wahroonga on Sydneys North Shore. In addition to the single-sex campuses, Knox also operates Wahroonga Preparatory School, a co-educational campus for students Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. ABOUT THE ROLE The Head of Stage is a key member of the boarding team, and the responsibilities include supporting the Head of Boarding and Deputy Head of Boarding with leadership and management activities, and the effective day to day management of the boarding house operations. Working in boarding at Knox Grammar offers you the opportunity to positively influence the lives of young men, to support them academically, emotionally, and socially, serving as a mentor and role model. This role also allows you to gain valuable experience and insights which will align with your career in teaching, coaching, or other related fields. This position is permanent part-time (term time, plus 2 weeks). Commencing in Term 1, 2026, this is a year-round live-in position. There is also the option of increasing the position to full-time by combining it with a teaching component for the right candidate with the appropriate credentials. ABOUT YOU Due to the importance of this role at the School, it is expected that the successful candidate will have: Experience over several years in school residential boarding Be able to provide effective leadership, development, and support of the Boarding House team Excellent communication and relationship building skills, working collaboratively with other school staff, boarders, and parents Demonstrated experience and understanding of the issues encountered by overseas and remote students and their families An appreciation and understanding of what is important in a successful boarding environment A demonstrated understanding of the developmental needs of boys and how this will impact on all aspects of boarding. Understanding of WHS legislation and its application to the residential environment, with the ability to undertake risk assessments on activities pertinent to the boarding environment Current NSW Working with Children Check Our staff across all campuses are key to providing exceptional experiences.
