Safe Ministry and Inclusion Lead Consultant Melbourne Anglican Diocese Corporation Melbourne VIC The Anglican Diocese of Melbourne is a large and dynamic organisation comprising of over 200 parishes located throughout metropolitan Melbourne and extending to include the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas. The Role This role combines policy leadership, training delivery, parish support, risk management, and advocacy, and includes responsibility for leading one direct report (Disability Inclusion Officer). Reporting to the Marmagatha Bishop, the Safe Ministry and Inclusion Lead Consultant is responsible for: Leading the implementation of the Dioceses Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable People Framework and Disability Action Plan. Providing expert advice, guidance and support to parishes on safeguarding and disability inclusion. Developing and delivering training to clergy, leaders and volunteers, including webinars and online learning. Supporting parishes with risk assessments, audits and compliance across physical, cultural and online environments. Leading the development, review and implementation of safeguarding and disability inclusion policies and resources. Building and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including with regulators and Anglican agencies. About You To be successful in this role you will have: A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Behavioural or Social Sciences or related field. Demonstrated experience in: Risk assessment and mitigation Safeguarding and child safe compliance Disability inclusion and access frameworks Strong understanding of: Child Safe Standards and legislation Disability Inclusion Act 2006 and Regulations (2018) Community marginalisation and discrimination Highly developed: Influencing and stakeholder engagement skills Analytical thinking and organisational awareness Planning, accountability and results focus Experience working within a faith-based or community organisation and familiarity with the Anglican Church is highly desirable.
